About Us
We have been working as a couple producing photography and videos for small to large organisations since 2015. We live together in Forres, Moray and serve the Highlands of Scotland.

I have always been fascinated by sound and picture and the relationship between the two. I remember around the age of eight years old I would spend all day exploring stop motion, using lego and an old VHS videocamera to create worlds of my own. I still love this about taking photos and producing videos - the power they have to share ideas, stories and experiences.
We all have those childhood memories of posing awkwardly for photos. I remember how the spontaneous moment was lost once the camera came out. As a naturally shy person, much happier behind the camera than in front of it, I understand how choosing the right photographer is really important. I believe everyone can enjoy being photographed, and that the best photos often come from those unplanned moments when someone doesn’t even realise they are being photographed; they are being truly themselves without trying to pose.
After graduating with a degree in Music and Sound Recording from the University of Surrey I decided to move into video, starting Flying Mirrors here in Moray with Sara. We started with just one DSLR camera and built up from there. Since then I have expanded my skills to include photography and running events online.
One of my favourite parts of the job is meeting people from all over the Highlands and seeing all the projects, charities and businesses that are doing amazing things. It feels like being part of one great big community which has so much goodwill.

I enjoy planning the logistics of a shoot to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day. Sometimes, I may use a second camera to help capture those candid, inconspicuous shots which provide extra insights into an event or occasion. An extra pair of eyes and a second perspective can add another layer.
I love the variety in this work - having grown up in Moray I enjoy building relationships with people and businesses in our community. This is a special area of Scotland to me, with the most stunning scenery for creating memorable images. I have a particular interest in bringing emotion and feeling into the work we produce.
As well as being super organised, I also aim to bring a sense of fun to a shoot. My aim is to help to make you feel at ease, relaxed and in the now for a candid style of photography which finds beauty in small moments.
In our spare time…
We like to explore wild areas, kayak and swim on the beaches and rivers of the Moray coast, do Scottish country dancing and spend time with our beautiful two cats Shona and Ciara.
